Key information

The BTEC is coursework based with no exams. This work can range from Presentations, practical testing, essays, leaflets etc. This is a vocational course, where we strive to make lessons as practical as possible to help consolidate learning.

The course consists of 7 Units over two years. These are;

Year 1

Unit 1 – Physiology of Fitness

Unit 2 – Anatomy and Physiology

Unit 3 – Risk Assessment

Year 2

Unit 5 – Sports Coaching

Unit 7 – Fitness Testing

Unit 14 – Exercise, Health and Lifestyle

Both years

Unit 8 / 9 – Practical Team / Individual Sports

In the first year of study you will do two units based on the Human body and how it reacts to sport. Watch this video and complete the following questions...

Unit 1 Physiology - Part 1

What is ATP? (1 mark)

How does the body use this molecule? (2 marks)

State two sporting examples of ATP being used to create movement (2 marks)

For one of your examples explain why ATP would be used to create movement and not another energy system. (2 marks)

Please submit answers via email to djoseph@seaford.org
